How to Lose weight after having a baby the stress free kind!

Howdy!!

I hope you have taken notes and started to take some ACTION!  You deserve it after carring your baby for 9 months and now its time to focus on yourself.  I know its hard since your baby takes up so much of your time but that is why their are babysitters, husbands/boyfrineds, family, friends neighbors anyone you can trust.

So many woman as me how to lose weight after having a baby and they want a simple answer.. It’s not simple but one of my key ideas I would like to share with my favorite women… YOU!!  You gotta love yourself and spend a little bit taking care of yourself.  If you don’t love yourself and give yourself a little break you are going to end up having a nervous breakdown and very STRESSED!! You must take time for yourself.  Take a few hours a week and spend time at the gym, spa or healthy lunch with friends.  You will thank yourself afterwards when you are relaxed and ready to come home.  When you dread coming home or dread waking up in the middle of the night that isn’t healthy.  When you take a few hours away from the house that means your heart grow fonder and then you can’t wait to come back to your family!

If you can’t get a babysitter do so fun activies that you enjoy with your family.  Like take a walk around the block with the baby in the stroller, have a baby date at the park with another mother, take your child to the gym (Most gyms now have a child care area and I’m sure depending on the babies age, your child will be happy to play with other children and then they will come home and take a nap.

How to lose weight fast after having a baby isn’t exactly what you should do.  You need to realize that it took 9 months to gain all that weight so you can’t lose all that weight super fast.  After you give birth some weight will come off because of the extra liquid, the baby,  etc.   #1 thing that I learned is that you can’t eat like you are pregnant after you give birth.  It’s time to realize that you are eating for 1 now not 2.  (if you are breastfeeding you should be eating more calories). Watch what you are eating and maybe get on a diet plan.

Losing weight while Breastfeeding

Losing weight while breastfeeding is a question on a lot of women’s minds. When can I start, how do I do it healthy, is it safe for my body.. etc.

Obviously, you are going to lose weight after your baby is born but you should wait a little while to aggressively start to lose weight while breastfeeding especially exercise.  Always consult with your doctor before losing weight & exercise.  Some say you should wait around 60 days before starting but please speak with your doctors.

Losing weight while breastfeeding is always a hot topic. There are a few books which I would highly recommend which I read and loved.  The books I would refer are Eat Well, Lose Weight While Breastfeeding, LLLI BREASTFEEDING ANSWER BOOK & Breastfeeding made easy.  I’m a big book junky so if books aren’t something your interested in I will share some great tips that will get you off and losing weight while breastfeeding :)

Tips on how to lose weight while breastfeeding:
1.Eat enough calories – You can’t cut calories while your breastfeeding because your baby needs those calories and nutrition. Speak with your doctor and find out exactly how many calories or what you should and shouldn’t be eating during this time.
2. Watch your calories – Don’t go overboard. Enjoy yourself but don’t go crazy!!
3. Losing weight while breastfeeding you must do it naturally without any supplements (diets or shakes) While breastfeeding whatever you eat/drink your baby is too. So skip all the pills and shakes and rely on exercise and diet to get you through the weight loss!
4. Avoid Junk food – boy is this hard. But try to find a good to snack when you want a little treat. Like Pop chips (amazing) or Fat Free Popcorn. Whatever it is. That is my trick when my husband is getting a late night snack and then I get hungry and want something yummy to eat I pull out something from my draw and enjoy something too!
5. Hydrate and drink lots of water – Period. No need to comment more on this :)
6. Get moving & start being more active – (make sure you speak with your doctor to make sure you can exercise)

Three Easy Ways To Lose Baby Weight!

I know, as soon as you saw the words “easy” and “lose baby weight” in the headline and you were already ready to laugh and think its to hard .  But bear with me and you’ll learn 3 strategies that I guarantee will help you lose baby weight.

You’ve probably been taught to believe that weight loss had to be tied to countless hours at the gym, the latest supplement or eating nothing but celery stalks . Fortunately, dropping a couple dress sizes doesn’t take anything that extreme. What it does take is making some small changes in the behaviors that led to the addition of those unwanted pounds. Here are 3 routine changes that will immediately help you lose that unwanted fat and get your body back AND  THAT LOSE BABY WEIGHT!

1. Stop Eating Out. Think back to when you were growing up. Do you remember what the dinner plates looked like? Now compare that to what the “plates” look like at TGIFridays, Applebees or any of the other chain restaurants. It’s no wonder we’re gaining weight. There are dozens of studies about eating out and they all lead to one conclusion: if you eat out, you overeat! Not only is it almost impossible to exercise effective portion control when you eat out.  Another reason why eating out has your mind tricked is because you want to make sure you get your “money’s worth” so you might eat more just because you don’t want to throw it out.  I always say when I go out which I do enjoy I must make sure to have a healthy salad with the dressing on the side.  I know if I don’t want to eat a salad at a restaurant then I should go because I don’t want to put that pressure on my hands.

The bottom line is that those who eat out consume more calories than those that don’t. Take a break from eating out for the next six weeks and see how easily you can drop a dress size or even two. And you can use the money you saved eating at home to buy a couple of new outfits to showcase your improved body.

2. Eat Smaller Portions. You don’t have to avoid the foods that you like – you just can’t eat big servings of them. An easy way to do this is to use smaller plates for your meals. This will help you feel like you’re not depriving yourself while still exercising good judgment. It’s important to know that even if your full you don’t’ have to clean your plate. As opposed to what your mother told you when you were growing up. In fact – you shouldn’t. Eat slowly and stop when you aren’t hungry any more. You’ll quickly find that you can enjoy your favorite foods and your skinny jeans at the same time.

3. Make Better Choices. I know I just said that you can eat the foods you enjoy and still lose weight, but that doesn’t mean overindulging on processed foods, candy, sodas and chips. The key is moderation. So when you go to the supermarket, do the bulk of your shopping around the perimeter of the store and spend less time in the isles. The perimeter of the isles are full with produce, meat, dairy while the center isles usually have more processed foods with lots of sugar and preservatives. When you’re at work, keep health snacks handy so you don’t have to rely on the company’s vending machine for your energy boost. But most importantly, make good choices with the meals that don’t really matter. Your quality of life won’t dramatically improve if you choose a cheeseburger over a grilled chicken salad for lunch, so don’t do it. Save the times when you are going to choose foods that might be considered unsupportive for the meals that you really look forward to. Improving your choices will accelerate your weight loss and help you save unnecessary calories without really trying.

Obviously, there is nothing magic about any of these three strategies other than the results that they produce. So start applying these three simple ideas and prepare to lose baby weight!

 

How to Lose Pregnancy Weight!

So How Do I get Started?!?!

1. Before learning how to lose pregnancy weight, you should contact your doctor to make sure you are allowed to exercise and start losing weight.

2. Weigh yourself and write down a few different goals.  Short & long term goal.

3. Prepare your pantry and refrigerator (get rid of all junk foods).

5. Set up a meal plan for the week including breakfast, lunch and dinner.  If you aren’t a big breakfast lover you are really missing a lot.  The second you wake up you want your body to start burning more calories right?!?! Well, the way your body does that is by using the food/energy you eat.  The sooner you eat in the morning the sooner you can start burning some baby weight off :)

6. WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN!! This was a big change in my life and when I started this, this is when I started to see the weight fall off!! Even if you fall off for the day or go out to dinner and have a slice of cake.. Write it down.  I always say write it down even if its the good the bad or the ugly! This is one the main tips I can share with you on how to lose pregnancy weight.

7. Some people like to weigh themselves daily and in my option weight needs time to come off, so I put my scale away for a few weeks and let me get in the swing of things.  After a few days I start weighing myself weekly.

8. Find a exercise buddy to motivate each other and hold each other accountable.  If you don’t have a buddy or can’t get to the gym walk around the neighborhood with your new bundle of joy.

9. Reward yourself even for the small victories.  i.e. when you go out to dinner with your girlfriends and they all have dessert and you don’t.  That is hard! and you deserve to pat yourself on the back.  Or if you hit your exercise goal for the week.  It’s hard life gets in the way and if you can reward yourself you are going to be likely to do it again!! Everyone likes to be rewarded!

10. WOW! I still have sooo much to tell you guys.  But my last and final though for this Blog is… It’s one choice at a time… When you make a great decision or a food or a good workout that is one choice in the right direction.  If you can do it once you can do it over and over again.  You feel so good about yourself when you make right decisions.

You just spent 9 months carrying a child and you deserve now to have a great family and a happy life.  The happy life starts with what you put into your mouth.  Have you ever notice that when you eat like crap you feel like crap, but when you have a great healthy and fulfilling meal you feel powered and energized.

How:  The “How” is take advise and coaching from people who know what they are doing.  Join a program that is going to hold you accountable, read books, educate yourself.  By stop by this website and gaining the knowledge you need to lose weight is the how.. Welcome my Fellow Moms!! I wanted to start this site to get information out there for all the Moms who just had a beautiful child and needs help with their “baby weight”.  It’s not a surprise that a lot people gain more weight than they anticipated.

Of course these numbers are just a average but many people including myself gained more than I thought I would.  So when I had my beautiful baby, I needed to get to work!!

Work as in Lose some baby weight!! Wasn’t sure exactly what to do since I was breast feeding but I need some help and that is why I wanted to start this blog and share with my fellow mothers what works and what doesn’t work.
